~ This fellowship seems interesting for someone who wants to be in development. It pays fairly well compared to some small nonprofits and even comes with a mentor. They have over 190 sites to choose from and they are looking for new ones too.
The Carol H. Pitchersky Development Fellowship was established by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund. The Fellowship program will identify and support persons of color who are aspiring development professionals, who have demonstrated a commitment to civil rights and social justice, and who wish to advance their careers in nonprofit fundraising. The Fellowship includes a two-year placement at a nonprofit organization at a salary in the range of $40,000- $65,000 with benefits. The deadline to apply is Feb 1, 2008. Kellogg Foundation’s National Leadership in Action (NLIA) Award was established in 2004 to recognize, celebrate, and promote outstanding philanthropic and nonprofit leadership in communities of color. The award is designed to honor innovative approaches to connecting resources of time, money, and know-how toward mutually responsible and just social change. The deadline is Friday, January 11, 2008.
