Last week's 5.6 magnitude earthquake and 40-some aftershocks in the San Jose/Santa Clara area is causing some Bay Area area residents to review their earthquake preparedness plans.
For those in the AAPI community, a multilingual earthquake preparedness booklet is available. The Asian Pacific Fund worked with agencies such as the U.S. Geological Survey, California Earthquake Authority, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, and the American Red Cross to translate and publish this manual.
The manual has information in simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and English, and was written especially for those who do not speak English as their primary language and for low-income families. It contains advice on what to do during an after an earthqauke to reduce risk of death or serious injury.
You can download the booklet here or request one to be mailed to you here.
