The San Francisco Japantown Foundation announced the recipients of its 2007 grants earlier this month. The grants totaled $25,000 and were divided among 10 organizations. Community leader and donor, Jack Hirose also made a special $15,000 donation to three other organizations.
Kintetsu Enterprises of America, Jack Hirose, Hats and Amey Aizawa, and Minami Tamaki LLP provided the funds to create the Foundation. Currently, the Foundation has an endowment of approximately $650,000.
