The Asian Giving Circle is pleased to announce that it is accepting proposals from metropolitan Chicago area nonprofit organizations serving the Asian American community for its seventh year of grantmaking. Funding for 2010 will support projects focused on increasing organizational capacity for fundraising. The Asian Giving Circle will award grants ranging from $2,000 to $7,000 with awards made in May 2010. The deadline for submitting applications is October 30, 2009.
The 2010 grants will provide support to strategies that enhance the organization's overall ability to work towards the improvement and maintenance of its fundraising capacity.
In 2009, the Asian Giving awarded capacity-building grants to the Cambodian Association of Illinois, Chinese Mutual Aid Association, Hanul Family Alliance, and Korean American Women in Need.
Launched in December 2002, the Asian Giving Circle is a donor advised fund of The Chicago Community Trust. The goal of the Asian Giving Circle is two-fold: to bring a new source of funding to nonprofit organizations serving the Asian American communities of metropolitan Chicago, and to increase the awareness of philanthropy in these communities.
