Asian Philanthropy Forum is the sister site of Asian American Giving. While AAG is focused on the Asian American community here in the U.S., APF is focused on philanthropy to and in Asia. APF was founded to transform and promote philanthropy in Asia through the exchange of ideas, knowledge and stories.
Many Asian Americans give overseas, whether it is because of personal, familial, or business ties. We will continue to feature Asian Americans that give - no matter where that may be. However, we encourage you to visit the Asian Philanthropy Forum site if you are interested in what is happening in Asia. At this time, we do not know of a publication that is focused on philanthropy all over Asia. Until the creation of The Chronicle of Philanthropy Asia, we will continue to serve as that missing resource. We encourage you to write to us if you are interested in joining our mission.
The following are stories on the Asian Philanthropy Forum site that we think you might be interested in:
* Food insecurity in Asia: Dr. Bruce Tolentino of The Asia Foundation talks about the issue of food insecurity - the causes, the issues and what can be done.
* Ideas for the development of Bangladesh. Seema Khan reports on the Bangladesh Development Initiative conference held in the U.S.
* New community partner: CAF India. CAF India was established in New Delhi in October 1998. CAF India's mission is to increase the flow of resources from corporations and high net worth individuals to the non-profit sector. They provide giving solutions such as payroll giving, company accounts, donor-advised funds - to individuals and multinational companies and their employees.
