I want to be a gardener. I might even settle for ‘farmer’…. I look forward to the day when I list my occupation as ’gardener’ when filling out my tax return forms. Until that day comes, I am just a ‘consultant” by day and an amateur gardener/blogger on nights and weekends.
A very good friend reminded me recently that gardening takes practice. I agree with her. A garden has to be thought of first. It has to be created by vision and desired into being. Along the way, it is only natural to make mistakes. Flowers won't bloom, vegetables won't grow, over-pruning can kill a plant and knowing when and how much to water is a skill. But a garden is a forgiving place. With patience and perserverance, the garden rewards you with the most beautiful flowers, the greenest plants, and the tastiest vegetables.
